Is still the overall sentiment!
Businesses are stepping up, some with donations to leading black organizations, some with reforms to their boards and leadership, and some missed the mark with insensitive responses.
However not only are businesses expected to scrutinize their policies and cultures, but so should the government. Even the Canadian Human Rights Commision has stated the obvious, the ugly reality of systemic racism in Canada. Now we must move with action.
Considering the severity of today, why not start with the justice system. The need for justice reform was identified way back in the 1930s and nothing measurable has been done since. We need to be open to learning from others who have done this better than we have.
We can’t let apathy overtake our progress, instead let's get to work, with measurable and sustainable action.
